NutshellEngine 0.2.1


NutshellEngine 0.2.1 is a minor update that fixes some runtime issues and has a quality-of-life improvement in the editor.

Runtime

The Runtime is the part of the engine that runs the games made with the editor.

Features

  • Reversed Depth is now used in the provided Graphics Module to reduce Z-Fighting on further objects.
  • Updated gamepad mappings in the provided Window Module to support a larger number of controllers, including the Steam Deck controller.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where shadowmaps could not correspond to the light casting shadows in the provided Graphics Module.
  • Fixed an issue where entities could get the wrong material if they had none in the provided Graphics Module.
  • Fixed an issue where a gamepad, which had no mappings, had its triggers set to 0.5 by default instead of 0, in the provided Window Module.
  • Fixed an issue where sounds could be re-loaded when they were already loaded in the provided Audio Module.

Editor

The Editor is the software used to make games with.

Features

  • Entities are now selected according to the order in the Entity List. It means that when copying or renaming entities, they will now follow the Entity List order to avoid out-of-order copy and rename.
